OK Studio: Cookie Monster

Make your own sculptural cookie jar! Each student will get a 5 lb bag of clay to construct a medium-sized cookie jar.

This hand building workshop is 2 sessions (6 hours total) in an intimate setting with a small group of 6 students. Suitable for all levels. Come as you are with some ideas!

Session 2: Sunday, November 16th | 3:00 - 6:00 PM

Session 1

We'll introduce you to the basics of hand building with clay – coils, pinch and slab. You'll spend the first session creating the form of your cookie jar and adding the details to your design. We'll help you out along the way.

Session 2

The second session is focused on painting your piece. You'll learn about underglaze application and the firing process.

We'll take care of adding the final clear glaze and your piece will be fired and ready for pickup in 2-3 weeks.

Good to Know

The session is held at our studio in the El Sereno neighborhood of Los Angeles. You'll receive an email a few days prior to the workshop with further details. You might get messy, so be sure to wear clothing you don't mind getting clay on.
